Last month, The Vineland City Council unanimously approved the purchase of 108 acres from Inspira Health for $6 million, with plans to develop the property into a large youth sports complex.
The acquisition will be split between the City of Vineland and the Cumberland County Improvement Authority. Vineland will contribute $3 million towards the purchase, in addition to closing costs.

The site sits next to 65 acres already owned by the Vineland Development Corporation. Officials say studies are underway to determine whether the combined land can support a large regional youth sports complex.
City leaders say the proposed complex could boost economic development, attract tourism, and create new jobs. At this stage, no renderings or formal plans have been released as research and planning efforts continue.
