A drive-by shooting near Sunset and Stewart avenues in Fairfield Township on Friday, Oct. 9, left a Bridgeton man dead and a woman injured, according to the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office.

New Jersey State Police responded around 4:53 p.m. and found Shykeem Boyd, 41, of Bridgeton, with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Inspira Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. The woman, a 34-year-old Bridgeton resident, was also struck by gunfire and taken to a hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.

The New Jersey State Police Major Crimes Unit and the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating the shooting.
