According to officials, the Franklin Township Police Department, in partnership with the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office conducted a DWI checkpoint on Friday night on Route 40 in Buena, NJ.

Throughout the night, over 67 traffic tickets were written and two different individuals were charged with more serious violations.

The Franklin Township Police Department also announced their new traffic safety unit will begin operation this upcoming week. This unit will be responsible for high-visibility traffic enforcement in high-crash areas throughout Franklin, Buena, and Newfield.
