Vineland, N.J. - The Vineland Police Department has identified the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred early Saturday morning.
According to police, officers responded around 5:57 a.m. on Saturday, March 7th, to the intersection of East Sherman Avenue and South Lincoln Avenue for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.

Investigators say Frederic Acevedo, 42, of Millville, was struck by a 2013 Ford Mustang driven by Karolina Ortiz-Angel, 21, of Bridgeton, while she was traveling eastbound on East Sherman Avenue toward South Lincoln Avenue.
Police said the driver told officers she saw a pedestrian in her lane of travel and attempted to swerve away, but believed her vehicle did not strike the pedestrian. Ortiz-Angel reportedly remained at the scene briefly but left after not seeing the pedestrian on the roadway.
Authorities later located the Ford Mustang and conducted a traffic stop. Officers observed damage to the vehicle that was consistent with evidence found at the crash scene. Police issued citations to Ortiz-Angel for leaving the scene of a collision causing death and failing to report a collision. At this time, zero criminal charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
